After allegedly shooting and murdering his three young boys, a father has been charged with aggravated murder in the US state of Ohio.

According to The Associated Press, the prosecution alleged that Chad Doerman had confessed to organizing the killings and had lined up his boys before shooting them to death.

Police authorities revealed receiving two subsequent 911 calls on Thursday, June 15th, one from the mother, who was herself injured from the grueling incident, and a motorist who was passing by the crime scene, who was informed by a girl, saying that her father had shot down her brothers.

It was informed that the authorities who reached the killing sight quickly gave CPR to the boys, although they remained unsuccessful. After interrogation, it was disclosed that the boys had an older sister who managed to escape from the gruesome incident with her mother, who, while attempting to protect her boys, was shot in the hand and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

The entire incident has left the internet shocked, with many curious to know the motive behind Doerman killing his underage sons brutally.

During his arraignment, Doerman also confessed to planning the heinous crime for months, adding that one of the boys attempted to flee into a neighboring field during execution but was chased down by Doerman and brought back before murdering him.

Why Did Chad Doerman Kill His Sons?

The unsettled question is what prompted Doerman to commit such a heinous crime on his underage sons. Throughout the initial investigation, the accused father didn’t reveal his motive behind the killing. Still, Doerman’s surrendering to the police authorities and compliance with the officers gave a more sinister angle to the incident.

Perhaps what Doerman has confessed to is that it was a “planned attack” and that he had been plotting the killing of his three sons and his step-daughter, who successfully fled the scene.

While the 34-year-old mother was being treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Centre, later the same night, Doerman was charged with three counts of aggravated murder, as his defender at the court asked for a $75,000 bond, saying he had a “job, cosigners and that he was married,” whereas, the prosecutor demanded a $20,000,000 bond. The authorities reported that the judge in Clermont County granted the prosecutor’s request.

“The trauma that this man has inflicted on his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and all the rest of us is unspeakable. There has been a full admission in this case, the case is still new we’re still discovering facts. But the evil horror of what we know is impossible to process.”

“In an act of incomprehensible cruelty the father that stands before you lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle. In an act of desperation the mother at some point grabbed the gun the father was wielding to attempt to protect them.”

David Gast, chief prosecutor at Clermont County

Chad Doerman’s Family Reacts to the Killing

After initial investigations on one of the most gruesome killings in Ohio, the triple-homicide incident is unfolding new updates. In a recent development, Doerman’s father spoke to the Daily Mail, citing what his son has done is “beyond comprehension” for him.

Keith Doerman, 59, in the interview, defended his son, saying he “just snapped,” as against his son’s confessions of planning the murder.

“There was something going on in his life that he couldn’t handle no more. I can’t talk to him, they aren’t letting me talk to him so I don’t have any answers. He probably hid a lot of stuff from me,” the father of the accused said, adding that he is still trying to process that his son has killed his grandsons.

Quite ironically, Keith Doerman also argued for his son’s innocence, saying that his “fun-loving” son had no criminal record against him, whereas Chad Doerman was earlier charged for trying to choke his father in 2010.

While Ohio tops the list of producing some of the most notorious killers, it is also becoming a homeland for unsolved or rather spooky crime cases over the years.
