Vermont man living in tent found guilty of killing New Hampshire couple
PORTLAND (WGME) — A Vermont man who was living in a tent in the woods of New Hampshire has been found guilty of murdering a retired couple who were out for a walk.
A jury found that 27-year-old Logan Clegg shot and killed Stephen and Djeswende Reid in April 2022.
The couple was walking on a trail near their Concord apartment.
Police said Clegg dragged their bodies into the woods and tried to cover them up before burning his tent and leaving Concord.
Investigators eventually found and arrested him in South Burlington, Vermont with a one-way plane ticket to Berlin, Germany. He had a fake passport and a gun in his backpack, prosecutors said.
Clegg's sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 15.
