Pablo Guzmán was an American television journalist, radio personality, and activist, based in New York City. He was a reporter for WNEW/Fox 5 from 1984 to 1992, WNBC from 1992 to 1995, and WCBS from 1996 to 2013.
Pablo was the son of Sally Palomino and Raul Guzmán. His parents were born in New York City. His mother and maternal grandparents’ race is listed as “Negro” on U.S. Censuses. In his youth, he was a founding member of the Young Lords, a political organization focused on human rights for Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics in the U.S. His nickname as a Young Lord was “Yoruba.” He legally changed his named to Pablo after spending time in Mexico.
Many sources state that he was born in Manhattan, but this does not appear to be accurate.
