Lionel Messi scored his first-ever goal for Barcelona from an assist by Ronaldinho on this day 17 years ago. Messi scored his debut goal against Albacete after he came on from the bench to replace Samuel Eto and became the youngest player to score for Barcelona.

Messi scored from Ronaldinho’s ‘little scoop’ assist soon after entering the field but the goal was unfortunately chalked off. He again scored typically the same kind of goal from another Ronaldinho assist to score his first-ever goal for Barcelona.

His former teammate requested Messi to rejoin Barcelona for a little period before he declares retirement after claiming that they had their best time at the Camp Nou.
