Ammon Bundy talks mask mandates with Nate Shelman on 670 KBOI
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Ammon Bundy is speaking out Friday, after his arrest earlier in the week.
Bundy was taken into custody for failure to appear after refusing to wear a mask inside the courthouse.
On Friday, he spoke with 670 KBOI's Nate Shelman about why he refused to comply.
"I believe for political purposes that it is wrong. I believe that it is very important that I make the decisions for my body and not somebody else," Bundy said. "I believe that you head down a very terrible path, a very slippery slope if you start allowing people to mandate what you do with your body."
Bundy also told Nate why he believes standing against mask mandates is so important.
“Those who understand know we are on the crux of losing some of the very fundamental protections of liberties that have been in place for over 200 years in this country and have literally made it so that we can prosper and live free," Bundy said. "So I do talk that way Nate, I do believe it is worth fighting over, I even believe it's worth dying over."
Ammon Bundy's next court appearance is May 10.
