7 3 former WWE champion comments on rumors of company giving up on him

Publish date: 2024-08-03

Since Omos made his WWE debut, he has been recognized as a dominant figure. He even found some success with AJ Styles when they won the tag team titles at WrestleMania 37. However, for quite some time now, the 7’3″ wrestler hasn’t appeared on WWE TV, with people believing that the company has given up on him. Amid all the rumors, The Nigerian Giant sent a message on social media.

According to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wanted Omos to gain more experience from house shows. He consistently competed against wrestlers like Odyssey Jones and Akira Tozawa. However, he hasn’t been used at any of the recent live events. Instead, he launched his YouTube channel and posted his first video, ‘Top 10 Summer Fragrances 2024.’

Responding to Meltzer’s report, the former WWE Tag Team Champion took to X and gave a fitting reply. He refuted all the rumors by saying that journalism had become like the National Enquirer, which is a tabloid newspaper. His message indirectly implied that WWE had not given up on him and that he was still involved in their plans for the future.

He competed in the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania 39, facing Brock Lesnar. Although, on this rare occasion, The Beast Incarnate was an underdog against the Nigerian Giant, he still managed to defeat him. Omos’ last appearance was in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal ahead of WrestleMania XL.

The WWE Universe applauded Omos for debunking the nonsensical reports about WWE giving up on him. Some fans praised him and were pleased that he was staying with WWE, while others expressed their desire to see him perform on WWE TV again.

One fan missed him on the main roster and wanted him to challenge Oba Femi for the North American title upon his return. Another fan couldn’t understand the reason behind his absence from WWE TV. Some fans expressed their appreciation for his newly created YouTube channel and liked his content. Here are some of the top reactions from fans:

Yeah but we've missed you! I want to see you challenge Oba for the North American Championship….or maybe team up with him. Or both. The world may not be ready for that.

Come back soon! Your father @RonKillings misses you and wants to have tv segments with his son
